Dolly Smith-Kennedy Obituary

Dollie Mae Smith Kennedy was born on Feb 20,1959 in Wetumpka, AL to (mother) Pennie Smith and late (father) Daniel Austin Sr, both of Wetumpka, AL. Dollie confessed Christ at the age of 10 years old at Mt. Zion Chapel A.M.E Zion Church, Wetumpka AL. She obtained her high school education in 1976.

 

Dollie was full of life and loved by so many. She was a firecracker and she loved to dance and listen to music7. She would always keep it real no matter who the person was. If you did not want to know the truth, then do not ask Dollie. Whether you were right or wrong she would always be straight forward and spoke from the heart. Not only did Dollie love the sport of softball, but she also was an amazing cook, she loved to serve. No matter who you were or what you did, if you mentioned you were hungry, she would make it her business to feed you. Dollie was a loving and caring person, she loved her family unconditionally and in her eyes her nieces and nephews did no wrong but one thing she did not play about and that was her kids.

 

Dollie later settled in Cincinnati, OH where she met and married her husband, Phillip Kennedy. She leaves to cherish her memories her husband Phillip Kennedy of Cincinnati, OH, her 7 children Latonyia Michelle Smith of Cincinnati OH, Larry Reginald Smith (Winfred) of Prattville al, Gregory Hosea Smith (Tori) of Newport KY, MaGretta Denise Smith of Montgomery Al, Michael Wardell Young Jr. of Cincinnati, OH, Stephanie Lakole Young (Teto) and Lakeisha Monique (Phillip) both of Wetumpka al. She had 17 siblings Arizona (Houston) of Powder Spring, GA, Alsie Mae Hall of Millbrook, AL, Ruthie Nell (Sam), Edie(Larry), Idell Gill, John L (Tammy), Steven(Rose) all of Wetumpka, AL, Edward(Sylvester) of Prattville, AL, Bobby(Precious) of Talladega, AL, Rebecca(Sonny), Charles(Keyosha),both Montgomery, Al, Gwendolyn Freeman of College Park, GA, Daniel Austin Jr of Rockledge, FL, and sister in law Mary Glenn of Cincinnati, Oh. She was proceeded in death her brother Matthew Glenn, 3 sisters San Hosa McCall, Alice and Cassandra, grandson Terry Humphrey Jr, granddaughter Pearl Loretta Phillips, grandmothers Alsie Mae Smith and Laura Austin, and Grandfather Charlie Austin Sr. Dollie had 19 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and a host of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, and 2 devoted friends Melissa Thomas and Linda Elmore.
