Gregory McKeithen Obituary

Gregory Dwyane McKeithen was born on September 29, 1962, in the serene town of Eclectic, Alabama, and peacefully transitioned on September 16, 2023. He was the beloved son of the late Mr. Herman McKeithen Sr. and the late Mrs. Fannie Louise McKeithen. Gregory is survived by his four cherished siblings: Herman McKeithen Jr. of Atlanta, GA; Glenda McKeithen-Lomack and Gail McKeithen-Harvey of Los Angeles, California; and Major General (Ret) Timothy Mark McKeithen of Tampa, FL. He is preceded in death by his two brothers, Calvin W. Henderson and Ronnie McKeithen. Greg's educational journey led him to achieve great heights. In 1984, he graduated from the University of Alabama with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A) in Criminal Justice. He further pursued his passion for justice by obtaining his Law Degree from Stetson University College of Law in 1989, along with five Associate Degrees. A Navy veteran, Gregory proudly served as a Judge Advocate General (JAG) Attorney. His commitment to the public was evident as he worked tirelessly as a former prosecuting attorney in both the Gwinnett Judicial Circuit and the Atlanta Judicial Circuit. From 2006 until his passing, he successfully ran a private practice as a Criminal Defense Attorney. Gregory's professional life was marked by an unwavering commitment to justice for his clients. He dedicated himself to ensuring that every individual received a fair and equitable trial. Beyond his impressive career, Gregory embraced life with enthusiasm, a thirst for knowledge, and an unwavering devotion to Alabama Football. He was not only an exceptional chef but also an extraordinary and caring brother, uncle, and friend. In addition to his immediate family, Greg leaves behind a multitude of dynamic aunties, cousins, nephews, nieces, and other loved ones, all of whom held a special place in his heart. His devoted four-legged companion, Zailah, was a constant source of comfort and joy. Gregory's memory will be cherished deeply by all who had the privilege of knowing him. He will be profoundly missed, but his legacy of passion for justice and love for life will live on in our hearts.
